At Activ8 BN Digital Solutions, we believe great work starts with a healthy and happy team. In a fast-paced digital environment where deadlines, screens, and creative pressure are part of daily life, workplace wellbeing isn’t a “nice to have”. It’s essential. That belief led us to introduce one of our most talked-about initiatives: our monthly “Bring Your Cat Day.”
Once a month, our office transforms into a slightly furrier, much calmer space. A few carefully selected feline guests join us for the day, lounging on desks, exploring meeting rooms, and occasionally supervising work from the nearest sunny spot. While it may sound unconventional for a digital agency in Brunei, the impact has been overwhelmingly positive.
The presence of cats naturally encourages our team to slow down, even if just for a few minutes. Short breaks spent playing with them, giving a quick cuddle, or simply watching them nap help reduce stress and mental fatigue during busy workdays. These small moments of pause allow our team to reset, refocus, and return to their tasks with clearer minds.
There’s also strong evidence supporting what we experience firsthand. Studies show that interacting with animals can lower stress levels, reduce anxiety, and improve overall mood. For us, promoting employee wellbeing goes beyond productivity metrics. It’s about creating a supportive environment where people feel comfortable, valued, and mentally well.
“Bring Your Cat Day” has also become a powerful team-bonding experience. It sparks conversations, laughter, and shared moments that strengthen connections among our team. While productivity may briefly “paws” for a cat cuddle or two, the morale boost and positive energy last far longer.
